The main challenges that needed to be resolved were as follows:

Keeping data stored centrally Like many other schools, Kew College Prep originally stored data in multiple locations. However, to enhance security, they sought an all-in-one solution that would centralise everything.
Paper-based admin management Certain tasks, such as managing clubs, were previously handled using pen and paper. The school was therefore looking for an MIS that could streamline administration and bring all aspects of daily school life into a single system.

The main benefit that Kew College Prep has gained from using SchoolBase is having access to a wide range of modules within a single piece of software. Christine has overseen the expansion of how the MIS is used, ensuring that Kew College Prep are gaining maximum value from the system.

Some of the key areas where the software has strengthened operations include library management, reporting, rewards, sanctions, and safeguarding, to name just a few. The school also now finds it extremely easy to record meeting information and to add daily notes in daybook. The result is a comprehensive and complete picture of each child.

Enhancing Parental Experiences

Every school strives to build strong and meaningful relationships with parents and guardians. At Furlong, this focus is embedded within our software, ensuring that parents have access to the information they need.

Christine commented, “Parents can use the software as they wish to access a wide range of information, from receiving letters and booking clubs to updating their child’s details. In fact, I believe the clubs feature within Group Finder has been one of the most influential modules from the SchoolBase software.” Another key area of focus for Kew College Prep is daybook entries. In addition to making life easier for staff by providing quick access to student information, this data is also used to improve communication with parents by offer greater levels of detail. Overall, Christine noted that SchoolBase has significantly improved communication throughout the school.
